1. About these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply when you visit timteaches.college, book, purchase, or take part in one-to-one English coaching provided under the Tim Teaches trading name. Tim Teaches is operated by COGNIZENSE LLP (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By booking a session or purchasing a coaching package, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not book or use the services.
2. The coaching service
Tim Teaches provides personalised one-to-one online English coaching. Sessions may support a range of learner goals, including English for work, conversation practice, confidence building, and preparation for English-language examinations.
- Standard coaching sessions are one hour, unless a different duration is clearly stated when you book.
- The First Session & Learning Plan is a 20-minute introductory session.
- Coaching is planned around your stated goals, current level, and interests. It is not a fixed course or an accredited qualification.
- We do not guarantee a particular examination score, job outcome, level of fluency, or other result. Progress depends on many factors, including your participation, practice, starting point, and circumstances.
3. Bookings and availability
Bookings are subject to availability. The calendar is normally open up to three months in advance. Times shown at booking are provided in the applicable time zone displayed by the booking system. You are responsible for checking the selected date, time, and time zone before confirming your booking.
Sessions are delivered online using the agreed video platform or other agreed arrangement. You are responsible for having a suitable device, internet connection, and reasonably quiet setting for the session.
4. Prices and payment
All prices are displayed and charged in United States dollars (USD), unless we clearly state otherwise. Payment is required at the time of booking or purchase through the payment methods offered at checkout.
The First Session & Learning Plan costs $9.95. If you purchase a coaching package within 14 days of that first session, the full $9.95 fee will be credited towards the package.
Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal. We do not store your full payment-card or payment-account details.
5. Cancellation and rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule a booked session more than 12 hours before its scheduled start time without charge.
Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the scheduled start time are charged at 50% of the session cost. If you have already paid for the session through a coaching package, the equivalent value may be deducted from your remaining sessions or otherwise charged in accordance with the booking process.
If we need to cancel or reschedule a session, we will offer a reasonable alternative time or a full refund for the affected session where an alternative cannot be agreed.
6. Coaching packages and refunds
Coaching packages contain the number of sessions stated at the time of purchase. There is no time limit for using sessions in a coaching package.
If you are not satisfied with the level of tuition, you may request a full refund for any unused sessions in your package. Sessions that have already taken place, or have started, are not refundable.
Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory consumer rights that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
7. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- provide accurate booking and contact information;
- attend sessions respectfully and not engage in abusive, discriminatory, threatening, or unlawful conduct;
- use session materials and communications only for your own personal learning, unless we agree otherwise in writing; and
- not record, share, publish, or distribute a session, or any part of it, without prior written consent from everyone involved.
We may end a session or refuse future bookings where conduct is seriously inappropriate, abusive, unsafe, or unlawful. Where this happens, any refund will be considered according to the circumstances and your legal rights.
8. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, teaching materials, written feedback, exercises, and other content supplied through Tim Teaches remain our intellectual property or that of the relevant rights holder. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use these materials for your own learning. You must not reproduce, sell, distribute, or make them available to others without written permission.
9. Liability
We will provide the coaching service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, losses arising from your failure to follow reasonable technical or booking instructions, or indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.
10. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy. By using the site, you should also review our Cookie Settings for information about essential, analytics, and advertising cookies.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date. Changes will not retrospectively alter sessions or packages already purchased unless required by law or agreed with you.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising from them are governed by the law of Scotland. The courts of Scotland will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
